In the Lord Chancellor‟s report to Parliament on the extent to which Law Commission proposals have been implemented by the Government during that year, it was confirmed that it is unlikely that the Third Party (Rights Against Insurers) Act 2010 will be commenced until 2014.
Insurance contract law reform update
The provisions of the Consumer Insurance (Disclosure and Representations) Act 2012 are due to be commenced from 6 April 2013
Business insurance - a draft bill on business disclosure and warranties is expected in December 2013. The law Commission has told FOIL that, following its consultation which closed last September, its final recommendations on the business insured's duty of disclosure and the law of warranties are likely to be published in December, together with a draft Bill. In February the Law Commission will be publishing a summary of responses to the consultation.
